Supporting the development of stronger, more resilient and sustainable social economies in disadvantaged places
Supporting the social investment market to better meet the needs of charities and social enterprises
Market Development refers to activities that make the social investment market more collaborative, efficient, and equitable.
This includes developing networks, improving data and learning approaches, enhancing information and signposting, and supporting research and development to drive innovation and improve processes.
Market Development focuses on benefits for the sector as a whole or for multiple organisations, rather than just the growth of individual organisations.
Previously Access supported several Market Development initiatives through the Connect Fund, managed by Barrow Cadbury Trust.
We will continue to support key sector developments wherever we can – we expect to support a small number of strategic networks and projects, where it is clear that the social investment sector as a whole is behind an initiative and where the benefits are expected to be widely shared
Some of our programmes combine different types of funding. They’re shown below if they focus fully on market development or include elements of it in a broader programme.
