Networks

Connecting and building a social investment ecosystem that benefits everyone.

Why networks matter

"The challenges communities face are complex. It takes a range of funders, investors, and support organisations working together to build an investment ecosystem that works for those who need it most.

"This page highlights the key networks we're involved with. They are essential to making social investment work better for charities, social enterprises, and the communities they serve. By building strong networks and partnerships, we can help to share learning, align efforts, and mobilise more funding.

"We either actively participate in these networks, provide funding, or convene them directly."

Enterprise Grants Taskforce

The Enterprise Grants Taskforce brings together funders looking to develop funding practices that support agency and sustainability through trading.

Enterprise grant-making is defined as “an approach which encourages and supports charities and social enterprises to increase or maintain their income from enterprise activities, including selling services or goods. This is largely through using funding conditions and/or incentives to encourage enterprise behaviour, often accompanied by capacity building.”

This form of funding enables social organisations to find new and different ways to generate sustainable levels of traded income.

The Taskforce is bringing funders together to build understanding and adoption of enterprise grant-making and bring it into the mainstream.
